Cleaning and Maintenance Worker keeps buildings, offices, and facilities clean, sanitary, and in good working order.
Key Responsibilities
- General Cleaning: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors; dust furniture, fixtures, and common areas.
- Sanitation: Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, and high-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches); restock paper towels and soap.
- Waste Management: Empty trash cans and recycling bins, and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Equipment & Supply Management: Operate vacuums, floor buffers, or pressure washers; track and reorder cleaning supplies.
- Safety & Security: Monitor facilities for hazards, clean up spills immediately, and lock doors or check equipment after hours.
- Reporting: Notify management or maintenance crews when major repairs or specialized contractor services are needed.
- Experience: 0 to 2+ years of prior janitorial, housekeeping, or basic maintenance experience preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift heavy objects (frequently up to 50 lbs).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with standard cleaning chemicals, safety protocols, and basic hand or power tools.
- Soft Skills: Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
