Duties/Responsibilities:
- Daily work will involve confined space entry such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high pressure washing, etc.
- Perform work under the direct guidance of a supervisor involving the cleanup of hazardous waste and material.
- Assist in the loading/unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers. etc.)
- Ability to work a rotating shift, long hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs other job- related duties as assigned.
- Prior work experience of at least 1 year in the hazardous waste or chemical industry.
- Able to use hand tools and power tools
- Mechanically inclined
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate is a plus
- Must have a valid driver license and good driving history.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to travel out of state when needed.
- Must have TWIC card
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
